Enrollment in Health Insurance Marketplace Open
November 1, 2017 – December 15, 2017

Health care coverage is an essential component of achieving the AHA’s vision of healthy communities, where all individuals reach their highest potential for health. More than 10 million Americans are enrolled in coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace and now is the time to review coverage and enroll in a plan for 2018.

The 2018 Health Insurance Marketplace enrollment period runs from November 1, to December 15, 2017. This is a change from previous years, and it’s critical that all community stakeholders, including hospitals, reach out to consumers and make the enrollment process easy and accessible.

Looking for Coverage?

To apply: Go to HealthCare.gov to apply for health coverage, renew your current plan or choose a new plan. You must enroll or change plans by December 15 and your coverage will be effective January 1. You can also:

  • Preview 2018 health insurance plans and prices before you apply. Most people qualify for financial help with their premium costs.
  • Compare 2018 health plans and prices to your current coverage, update your application with any household or income changes, and enroll in a plan.

Information on Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, which provide coverage to families and individuals with limited income or other reasons, is also available on HealthCare.gov.
